'Italy number one for passion'

Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has admitted that he has never known a passion for football like that seen in Italy.

The 26-year-old has played in Germany, England and Serie A, but he's conceded that the atmosphere on the peninsula is at a different level to what he's used to.

“In Germany there is a passion for football,” he told RTV. “But it is not as strong as it is here.

“Many people in this country work 10 hours a day just to pay for a ticket to the stadium.

“That, for me, is an amazing thing.”
