Juventus will learn their Champions League quarter-final opponents tomorrow and Alessandro Matri has a very special reason for wanting Malaga.

“Over the summer Malaga brought me good luck, so I’d love to face them in the Champions League again,” he told Juventus Channel.

“However, we know the draw is a lottery and anything could happen at this stage.”

Matri bagged both goals when the Bianconeri beat Malaga 2-0 in a July friendly, used as a warm-up for the Italian Super Cup.

Friday’s draw will feature: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Galatasaray.

Meanwhile, the striker is focusing on the next match against Bologna on Saturday.

“Recently Bologna have shown themselves to be a great side who are in good physical and psychological shape. They have everything needed to do well and in my view will comfortably secure safety.”

Matri is also hoping to be included in Cesare Prandelli’s squad for the upcoming friendly against Brazil on March 21 and World Cup qualifier with Malta on March 26.

“The Nazionale is a dream and I want to continue battling to reach it. I know that if I do well with Juve, then I’ll have a better chance.”
