Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel has insisted that an educational change needs to take place in Italy, or problems with racism will persist.
Spurs striker Emmanuel Adebayor was the victim of alleged racial abuse in Thursday's 4-1 loss to Inter in the Europa League.
And the American shot-stopper has claimed that the problem needs to be stopped at its root.
“The attitude of the racists in Italy is the result of infrastructure and education,” he told uefa.com.
“UEFA can continue to do what they are doing – organizing campaigns against racism. But as long as there is no education to children, these problems will not be solved.”
