Italy: No Brazil win for 31 years

Italy’s famous 3-2 win over Brazil in the 1982 World Cup remains their last ahead of tonight’s friendly between the two nations.

Paolo Rossi bagged a hat-trick as the Azzurri marched towards World Cup glory 31 years ago, but they haven’t tasted Selecao victory since.

In the five meetings between the giants after 1982, the South Americans have collected three wins and two draws. Italy failed to score in four of those encounters.

Italy’s overall record against Brazil is of five wins, two draws and seven defeats in 14 matches.
