Cyril Thereau confirmed he wants to leave Chievo this summer and reports suggest he is on the verge of completing a deal with Fiorentina.
The French striker has been in Verona since August 2010 when he joined from Charleroi for €1.2m.
“I have played in this shirt for two years now, and for me it's time to move on,” he told RMC last week.
“I want to play for a big club like Fiorentina, Lazio or Roma – although I want to clarify how much I have liked it in Verona.”
According to La Nazione newspaper, Fiorentina have won the race to sign Thereau and are working out the final details with Chievo.
In order to lower the €5m price-tag, the Viola aim to include defender Michele Camporese and striker Haris Seferovic on loan as part of the deal.
