Malta captain Michael Mifsud has claimed that Italy 'must not frighten' his side when they lay each other tomorrow evening.

The tiny island nation host the Azzurri in World Cup qualifying on Tuesday, but the striker has insisted that his team will relish the opportunity of playing Cesare Prandelli's men.

“They must not frighten us,” he told a Press conference. “We have to forget the disaster we had against Bulgaria [where they lost 6-0] and focus purely on tomorrow.

“This game will be another story. The stadium will be full, everyone will be with us, so we have to play for the result.

“It's going to be tough, but we will play as we know.

“We are a small country but we want to be on par with Italy.”
