Sergio Almiron is in talks with Catania regarding a contract extension at the Stadio Massimino.
The Argentine, who is thought to be of interest to clubs such as Torino, is only tied to the outfit until June 2014.
“It’s still premature to speak about an agreement over a renewal,” agent Claudio Bagheggi told Ita Sport Press.
“However, I can add that there is a very good chance that Sergio will stay at Catania.
“We are talking, we’re on a good path and a pen may be put to paper over the next few days.”
Almiron, formerly of Juventus, is a 32-year-old who moved to Sicily in the summer of 2011. He’s also played for Bari, Fiorentina and Empoli in Serie A.
