And the 29-year-old has claimed that the 18th place side are preparing as intensely as possible for the upcoming six-pointer.

“With Genoa it will be a very difficult match,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “It is a confrontation with a direct competitor.

“We hope to do well and we are preparing as best as we possibly can.

“It is hard to give a prediction because this championship throws up surprises all the time.

“We have to go to Genoa and try to win – that's all I can tell you.”
