Lega Pro President Mario Macalli has rubbished Aurelio De Laurentiis ' idea of allowing youth teams into the football pyramid.

The Napoli chief had suggested that Serie A sides Primavera outfits be allowed to play in the third and fourth divisions in Italy.

But the head of the lower League has admitted that it will never happen.

“Youth teams in Lega Pro? This is the last thing we will do,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss. “It is nonsense.

“If there is this desire from Serie A sides, perhaps they should let their young players play in Serie A.”
