The agent of Simone Zaza has reacted with surprise to reports that he’s set to hold talks with Milan.
The striker, on loan at Ascoli, could leave parent club Sampdoria in the summer given that his contract in the port city will expire in 2014.
Stories this morning suggested that the Diavolo had replaced Juventus in pole position for the 21-year-old, but that may not be the case.
“Nobody from Milan has ever called me, so I can assure you that there is no meeting planned,” Christian Maifredi told TMW.
“I’ll meet with Sampdoria next week though as they have formulated a new offer with regards to an extension.
“However, for now, the priority is for Simone to finish the season in the best way possible for Ascoli.”
Zaza is Serie B’s joint top scorer thanks to 18 goals – which include no penalties – for the Bianconeri.
