Lazio Coach Vladimir Petkovic insists “we all believe in Champions League qualification” ahead of today’s head-to-head with Catania and looks to Louis Saha.
The Biancocelesti are in joint fifth place, seven points adrift of Milan in third and only two in front of surprise package Catania. It kicks off at 14.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.
“We all believe in Champions League qualification. We are fighting on three fronts, but as I said at the start of the season, we try to give our best in every game,” said Petkovic in his Press conference.
“Now we are finding our feet both physically and psychologically, as the break did us good and we’ll see that right from this weekend.
“I wasn’t the only one to make mistakes, as many refereeing decisions went against us. However, if those behind us believe in third place, then why can’t we? The only stumbling block is that we are in three competitions and every game will be a Final from now on.
“Catania are a great side who have nothing to lose. We need to see the face of a Lazio side that wins and does so convincingly. This will be our most important test and we have to be 100 per cent to win.”
It’s possible Saha will get his first start in a Lazio jersey, as Miroslav Klose is back in the squad after a two-month absence, while Sergio Floccari, Abdoulay Konko, Andre Dias and Cristian Brocchi are injured. In defence, Michael Ciani sits out a one-match ban.
“We are proud that so many of our players have been away on international duty. There are three options for the attack, as I still need to evaluate their fitness levels, but Saha is one of those options.”
