Giorgio Chiellini admits Bayern Munich’s tempo and intensity were the key, but Juventus “know we can do much better and will continue dreaming to the end.”

The Bianconeri had been unbeaten in nine European fixtures going into the Allianz Arena and kept four consecutive clean sheets, but were beaten 2-0 in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.

“We knew it was going to be difficult. Bayern kept the tempo very high and we struggled to emerge with the ball the way we usually do,” Chiellini told Sky Sport Italia.

“We certainly hoped for better, but there are still 90 minutes left and we won’t give up. We have a week to prepare and will fight to the end.”

Stephan Lichtsteiner and Arturo Vidal were both booked this evening and will be suspended for the second leg in Turin.

“We need a higher tempo and the intensity they used tonight to put us under pressure. We must not think about Bayern, but just about us,” continued Chiellini.

“We know that we can do much better and will continue dreaming to the end with no regrets.”
