Javier Zanetti has hailed fellow Argentine Rodrigo Palacio after the latter netted a brace in Inter’s 2-0 win at Sampdoria.
The former Genoa man struck twice at Marassi as the Nerazzurri got their campaign back on track following a defeat against Juventus.
“Rodrigo was extraordinary and helped us get these three points,” the captain told Inter Channel after Wednesday’s re-arranged game.
“What’s his secret? His rat-tail,” the veteran smiled. “He’s a top player and he’s showing everyone that.”
The 31-year-old moved to San Siro in the summer and has responded with 12 goals in 25 Serie A games.
He also netted eight in 10 Europa League ties, as well as two in three Coppa Italia matches. That’s a total of 22 goals – one better than his previous season best achieved with Genoa last term.
