The agent of Fabio Borini has played down transfer links with Fiorentina by insisting the player is happy at Liverpool.
The Viola are interested in the Italian striker, but Marco De Marchi has told TMW that the 22-year-old has no desire to switch clubs again.
“I’ve heard the Fiorentina rumours, but there has been no direct contact,” the representative commented.
“Fiorentina are a club on the launch pad, they have laid the groundwork for an important project by signing great players and results will soon arrive.
“However, Borini has married the Liverpool project and they are one of the most important clubs in the world.”
The youngster, formerly of Bologna, Chelsea, Swansea and Parma, moved to Anfield in the summer from Roma for around €10m.
However, he’s had an injury-plagued campaign after breaking a bone in his foot and then dislocating his shoulder.
“He wants to return to action by the end of the season so he can take part at the Under-21 European Championship with Italy,” De Marchi added.
