Roma midfielder Simone Perrotta warns Monday night’s Derby della Capitale “will be fundamental for Europe.”
Only three points currently separate them from rivals Lazio and the two clubs go head-to-head on Monday evening in Serie A.
“It is a very difficult game and we go into it during a tough period, but we know the dangers the derby holds,” said Perrotta.
“We are preparing for this game, knowing full well how much it means to the fans and the whole city. It will be fundamental for Europe, but not our last chance saloon for qualification.”
Roma President James Pallotta is set to fly in over the weekend from Boston to watch from the Stadio Olimpico stands.
“We don’t want to just give a gift to Pallotta, but also to ourselves and all the fans in the city, as we deserve this satisfaction.”
Lazio have won the last three derbies on the bounce.
