'Moratti should believe in referees'

The President of the Italian Football Federation [FIGC] Giancarlo Abete has insisted that Massimo Moratti should keep his opinions to himself.

The Inter chief launched an astonishing attack against referees on Sunday evening after the Nerazzurri went down 4-3 to Atalanta.

But the leader of the governing body has claimed that the oil baron should go about his business quietly.

“Moratti should quietly believe in the referees,” he told reporters. “The criticisms are there, but you cannot argue on the good, or bad faith, of officials.

“President Moratti has criticised in the past about decisions.[Referees make mistakes] but so do players.”
