Palermo centre-back Steve von Bergen believes that his side have what it takes to avoid relegation come the end of the season.
The Rosanero are currently 18th in the table, level on points with Siena who sit in 17th place.
But the Switzerland international has insisted that two wins in their last two games shows that the Sicilian club can survive.
“We believe survival is a duty of ours,” he told reporters. “We have never stopped trying. We showed against Sampdoria that we are very much alive.
“At the moment though, we would still be relegated – but no one will remember that if we were to stay up on May 19.
“Now we face Bologna on Sunday and that will be a tough challenge. They area strong team and will also give everything.”
