The season is over for Atalanta midfielder Riccardo Cazzola, who snapped a knee ligament during training.
The 27-year-old will need further tests to confirm the extent of the damage, but it is believed the cruciate ligament in his left knee has been severed.
This sort of injury would keep Cazzola out of action for around six months and he should undergo surgery next week.
Cazzola made 22 Serie A appearances this season, plus three in the Coppa Italia.
