Don’t break up Napoli, warns Pandev

Napoli can not afford to lose their Coach and most influential players, says forward Goran Pandev.

“If Napoli want to continue growing then Edinson Cavani, Marek Hamsik and boss Walter Mazzarri need to stay,” the Macedonian told Il Mattino.

Striker Cavani has been linked with an exit given the €63m release clause inserted into his contract, while Mazzarri’s deal expires in the summer.

“The Coach has been really important for me,” added the former Inter player. “He really wanted me at this club, he had faith in me and I’ve been re-born on a footballing level.

“He’s done an extraordinary job here and, in my opinion, he is the best Italian tactician around. I hope that he stays for Napoli and for me.”

The Azzzurri are second in Serie A, four points clear of a Milan side who they will face at the weekend.

“It won’t be easy to leave San Siro with a win, but it is not impossible. We have to remain focused and put in all the determination we have.”

The 29-year-old has scored four goals in 26 League games this term.
