Giovanni Lodetti has urged former club Milan to make a bid for Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti.
The Diavolo have some goalkeeping decisions to make given that current first-choice Christian Abbiati will be out of contract in the summer.
“Marchetti is a great goalkeeper,” the ex-midfielder told Il Sussidiario. “However, it is impossible to go and negotiate with Lazio President Claudio Lotito.
“Marchetti would cost a lot, even if Milan would have a great goalkeeper for the next few years with him.”
Reports recently had also suggested that former Inter man Julio Cesar, now at QPR, cold be targeted by the Diavolo.
“He’s a great goalkeeper, but he’s almost as old as Abbiati,” Lodetti added. “I’d thus keep Christian, who has shown his worth this term. Otherwise I’d go for a younger ‘keeper…”
