Bologna are not mathematically safe yet, so Stefano Pioli fears the “sky high enthusiasm” of this early kick-off in Palermo.
The Rossoblu are practically secure on 37 points – 10 clear of the drop zone – and go head-to-head with a side that is trying to escape from the bottom three. It kicks off at 11.30am UK time, click here for a match preview.
“There are regrets that we were pegged back by Torino with the last kick of the game last week, but we have prepared well to face Palermo, knowing it is going to be very difficult,” said the Coach.
“We are motivated and know we can play on a par with the Rosanero. We already realise what the impact of the atmosphere is going to be at the Barbera, but the game is also worth three points for us and we are not entirely safe yet either.
“Returning home with a positive result would mean a lot to us. Clearly we are relatively comfortable in the table, but that doesn’t mean we have lowered our guard. Palermo have won two games in a row for the first time this season, so their enthusiasm is sky high.
“Fabrizio Miccoli and Josip Ilicic are also players we have to keep a close eye on, as they bring unpredictability to Palermo and can make the difference at any moment.”
Bologna make the trip without the injured Alessandro Diamanti and Diego Perez.
