Zanetti turns focus to Coppa

Javier Zanetti has urged his Inter teammates to forget about the 2-0 loss against Cagliari. “Let’s now focus on the Coppa Italia.”

The Nerazzurri were again defeated at the weekend, but they have the second leg of their Cup semi-final against Roma coming up. They lost the first leg in Rome 2-1.

“We'll try to prepare in the best possible way for Wednesday,” he told Inter Channel. “We hope to get a result that will see us into the Final.

“Performing well in midweek is what we need to think about now.”

Inter’s hopes qualifying for the Champions League took another blow on Sunday when they lost their fourth game from the last five.

“We’ve had many matches like that this season, where we've come away empty-handed,” he added. “But that's the way this season's gone.

“At the end of the campaign we'll look back and review everyone's performance. Then we'll begin to prepare for next season as we always do.”

Inter have been on the wrong end of refereeing mistakes in recent weeks and there are question marks about the penalty awarded to Cagliari yesterday.

“The referee got the penalty decision all wrong? We're gutted about the result and it makes you angry. But it's at times like these that we find the strength to move on and become a better team.”
