Pescara have Verratti regret

Pescara chief Daniele Sebastiani has some regrets about selling Marco Verratti to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

The young Italian playmaker was being linked with Juventus and Napoli, before PSG agreed to pay his €12m asking price.

“In hindsight, I would have preferred to keep him in Italy,” he told Radio CRC.

“Perhaps we could have done a deal with Napoli which would have seen him stay here with us on loan for a season.

“The Azzurri were the only Italian club who moved with any degree of commitment for him.”

Pescara, without the Italian, are facing relegation. With five games left this season, the seaside outfit are eight points adrift of safety.
