Genoa President Enrico Preziosi has claimed that his side's Serie A survival is in their hands.
The Grifone are currently 19th in the table, but just one point behind Siena who are outside the drop zone in 17th.
And the club's chief has insisted that the team have to focus on their own performances.
“We have to rely on ourselves,” he told Radio Nostalgia. “We cannot stop to think about what other teams are doing.
“Our future depends solely on us.
“We must continue to believe that we can stay up – that's what the fans are asking from us.
“We must not surrender.”
