Josip Ilicic is confident his Palermo side can escape relegation from Serie A. “We’re still alive.”
The Rosanero have spent most of the season in the drop zone, but they are just one point adrift of safety with five games left.
“This city is in my heart,” the Slovenian midfielder told Sky Sport Italia. “I’m really happy here and I love the atmosphere.
“I want to gift the fans survival,” he added. “I know the fixture list is tough, but we have shown in the last four games that we are alive.
“Also, in Italy, a team at the bottom can beat a team at the top.
“Now we are concentrating on Inter as Sunday’s game is a match that we have to win at all costs.”
The Sicilian giants, who will host the Beneamata, have collected two wins and two draws from their last four ties. Ilicic has scored in all of those encounters.
Palermo will also have to play Juventus, Udinese, Fiorentina and Parma before the season ends.
