Napoli haven’t made Jovetic bid

Napoli have made no offer to Fiorentina for Stevan Jovetic, the Tuscan giants have confirmed.

The Corriere dello Sport today suggested that the Montenegro international was a top target for the Azzurri.

“There has been no bid made by Napoli for Jovetic,” Fiorentina President Mario Cognigni told Radio Marte.

“Napoli are a correct club in the way they behave. Last season, before signing Alessandro Gamberini and Valon Behrami, they contacted us first.”

Jovetic is set to be a wanted man on the transfer market in the summer with clubs inside and outside of Italy keen.

“Jovetic is happy in Florence,” Cognigni commented. “As we’ve said in the past, we will sit down with him and discuss his future at the end of the season.

“But, until then, Jovetic will just be thinking about Fiorentina.”

The Viola are looking to qualify for the Champions League. With five games left, they are just one point behind third-placed Milan.
