Massimiliano Allegri has again thanked the Milan fans after their public message of support during the game against Catania.
The Curva Sud unveiled a banner at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza last night which read: ‘More respect for our Mr Allegri.’
Although the former Cagliari boss is tied to the San Siro outfit by a contract until June 2014, there is speculation that he could leave the Diavolo at the end of this season.
“The fans have got behind me since the day I arrived at Milan and they have also supported the team,” he stated.
“They have really backed us this season which has been more difficult than the first two years I have been here.”
The Rossoneri had a problematic start to the campaign after losing five of their first eight League games, but they are currently in third with four matches left.
“I think we deserve to be where we are in the table at the moment and the fans have no reason not to get behind us,” he continued.
“I think we can finish in the Champions League spots even if Fiorentina are having a marvellous season. I think we can get more points than them.”
The Rossoneri are just one point ahead of Vincenzo Montella’s Viola.
