Fabio Borini has admitted it was 'a great thrill' to score his first Premier League goal for Liverpool.
The Italy striker scored in the club's 6-0 win over Newcastle at the weekend, and the 22-year-old, who has missed the majority of the season through injury, has thanked the Merseyside team's fans for their support.
“It was a great thrill for me to score my first Premier League goal for Liverpool,” he exclaimed to reporters.
“Especially after such a long injury lay-off. What made it even more beautiful was the opportunity to celebrate in front of our fans.
“I want to thank them for their support, because they have seriously helped me during the injury.
“Many people thought my season was over, but I have fought hard to be back playing.”
