Flamengo have confirmed that Mattheus Oliveira is on the verge of joining Italian champions Juventus.
The Old Lady have been linked with the 18-year-old for some time and it seems a deal is on the horizon.
“We are just missing a document that has yet to arrive from Italy,” Flamengo sporting director Paulo Pelaipe told Lancenet. “But the agreement is basically done.”
It is understood that the Brazilian Under-20 international, son of national legend Bebeto, will cost the Turin giants a fee of around €1.5m.
Mattheus first hit the headlines as a baby given that his father’s cradle-rocking goal celebrations during the 1994 World Cup were in his honour.
