Hernanes praised Lazio Coach Vladimir Petkovic and is looking forward to the Coppa Italia Final with Roma after the “anger and frustration.”
The midfielder had opened the scoring in the recent Derby della Capitale, but then missed a penalty and gave away a spot-kick for the 1-1 draw.
“That game left me sad, as we were so close to achieving a great victory, but by the end it was not such a positive day,” Hernanes told UOL Esporte.
“I tried to keep my head on my shoulders so that I wouldn’t suffer too much under the anger and frustration. I didn’t want to let my head drop.”
The Brazilian had nothing but praise for Coach Petkovic, who has taken Lazio to the Coppa Italia Final, Europa League quarter-finals and challenging for Europe in Serie A.
“When Petkovic arrived at Lazio we talked and he asked me which position I’d prefer to play in. I’d never had a discussion like that with a Coach before, so I was happy. After playing in various different positions, I decided to go back to my roots.”
