There are reports Vincenzo Montella has a clause in his Fiorentina contract allowing him to leave if Napoli call.

The tactician’s cousin Emanuele spoke to RTN TV and claimed there is a specific clause for Montella to terminate the deal if a team in the Champions League requests his services.

Montella signed the two-year contract last summer and the Viola are eager to extend it after they rose to fourth place in Serie A.

According to PianetaNapoli.it, his hometown club Napoli first made contact in February to see if he would be interested in taking over from Walter Mazzarri.

The future of Napoli’s bench is up in the air, as Mazzarri’s contract expires in June and he has refused to discuss what he will do until the season has ended.
