Atalanta will now sit down and discuss the possibility of signing Luca Cigarini on a permanent basis.
“We have the option to sign him outright,” Nerazzurri director general Pierpaolo Marino told Radio CRC.
“Up until last night we were still fighting for our Serie A safety, so we haven’t done anything yet.
“However, we will soon meet as a club, myself and the Coach, where we will discuss the future of the squad.”
The playmaker is coming towards the end of a second campaign on loan at Atalanta from Napoli, an outfit who signed him in 2009 for €11m while he was part-owned by Atalanta and Parma.
