Parma remember Wembley ’93

Parma will wear special commemorative jerseys against Bologna to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of the club’s Cup Winners Cup success.

Back in 1993, the Stadio Tardini outfit lifted their first European trophy when they beat Belgium club Royal Antwerp in the Wembley Final.

Then boss Nevio Scala and members of his winning side from that night will be present at the Tardini on Sunday afternoon.

The Gialloblu beat their opponents 3-1 thanks to goals from captain Lorenzo Minotti, Sandro Melli and Stefano Cuoghi.

The European Cup Winners Cup was scrapped by UEFA after Lazio beat Real Mallorca 2-1 in the 1999 Final.
