Palermo desperate without Ilicic

Palermo are desperate and travel to Fiorentina without Josip Ilicic. “We’ve got little chance, but we will try,” said Giuseppe Sannino.

The Rosanero’s 3-2 home defeat to Udinese on Wednesday evening practically doomed them to the drop and they have an extremely difficult trip to Florence at 11.30am UK time on Sunday. Click here for a match preview.

“We must be like lions, trying everything to secure safety,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“A point tomorrow would be better than nothing, even if it means little at the end of the day in terms of the table. At least we know that we have given our all and have no regrets.

“My players must always look forward and see la vie en rose, like the colour of our shirts, taking away that grey that is making everyone depressed recently.”

Even Sannino cannot see the squad through rose-tinted glasses, as Ilicic has failed to recover from a muscular problem and is not even making the journey.

Also absent are Mauro Boselli, Diego Fabbrini and the suspended Edgar Barreto.

Palermo squad for Fiorentina: Benussi, Brichetto, Sorrentino; Aronica, Dossena, Garcia, Mantovani, Morganella, Munoz, Nelson, Von Bergen; Arevalo Rios, Anselmo, Donati, Faurlin, Formica, Kurtic, Sanseverino, Viola; Dybala, Hernandez, Miccoli, Sperduti
