Napoli are in pole position to sign Josip Ilicic from Palermo, claims Maurizio Zamparini.

The Slovenian international midfielder is set to leave Sicily this summer after the club were relegated to Serie B.

It seemed as if Roma were leading the chase for the 25-year-old, but the Palermo President has today told Radio Kiss Kiss that the Azzurri are at the front of the queue.

“Napoli have the priority over other clubs when it comes to Ilicic,” Zamparini noted. “I had a conversation about a number of players with Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis.

“If Napoli match the highest offer for him then they will have precedence over every other club.”

Ilicic, signed from Maribor in 2010, has scored 10 goals in 31 League games for Palermo this term.
