Andreazzoli: 'Roma should keep me'

Aurelio Andreazzoli is tired of hearing about his potential successor at Roma. “I’d confirm myself in the job.”

The caretaker Coach was promoted from the management staff in February when the club fired Zdenek Zeman and has taken them to the Coppa Italia Final.

“Have Roma already found my successor? Have you forgotten that there is already a Coach here with full power to do his job?” Andreazzoli told the media in a Press conference.

“I get bored repeating the same things all the time. I’ve already said that I’d confirm myself in the job. Maybe I’ll change it up for you: I’d definitely fire myself, as I am incompetent!” he joked.

“I am in this line of work and will consider any offers, but I have a very clear idea of my future. I wouldn’t call this a mediocre campaign, as I also some good things.

“I know there is a gap with the big teams and where we ought to intervene in the squad, but I’m not going to tell you that.”

The Giallorossi host Napoli on Sunday night, but are without the suspended Francesco Totti, injured Daniele De Rossi, Marquinhos, Federico Balzaretti and Maarten Stekelenburg.

“Napoli are an opponent to be respected and this will be a useful game to help us prepare for the Coppa Italia derby with Lazio. It won’t be easy to maintain the balance, especially with Totti out.”
