Pescara chief Daniele Sebastiani has admitted that he wants to re-hire Zdenek Zeman as they look for an instant return to the top flight.
Zeman led the seaside outfit to Serie A promotion a year ago, but left at the end of the season to join Roma. He was sacked by the Giallorossi in February.
“I’ve been busy this week and I haven’t been able to see him, but I’ll phone Zeman tomorrow in order to set up a meeting between Sunday and Tuesday,” Sebastiani noted.
“It’s not true that he has asked for some time to consider things, the delay has come from us as we had things to organise following the arrival of a new sporting director.
“This place loves him and I don’t think we are a back-up option for him.
“Perhaps he’s a little worried because it will be hard to repeat what he achieved here in the past, but we want to have an important Serie B championship.”
