Inter captain Javier Zanetti has thanked the Inter fans for their messages of support after it was confirmed he would miss the first half of next season.
The veteran defender tore his Achilles tendon against Palermo in May, and is set to be out until at least January 2014.
But the Argentine has insisted it will not end his career.
“I would like to thank all the fans,” he told Inter Channel. “It has been a difficult season for the team and for me personally.
“The injury was a tremendous evil for me.
“I thought for a moment that it might end my career.
“But now I want to get better and be available again for the team.”
