They beat Roma 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico for their sixth edition of the trophy and with it qualify for the Europa League.

Ledesma was stretchered off during the second half with a suspected groin strain, but insisted on limping through tears to take part in the celebrations.

“I’ve got the Coppa, my medal and the shirt – I’m going to bed like this!” grinned the Italian international.

“This Cup is dedicated to all the children who tomorrow will go to school and say ‘We won.’ We beat Roma for the Coppa and now we’ve got to enjoy it!”

Candreva set up the winning goal for Senad Lulic and was perhaps the man of the match.

“I love this sport and this profession. I wanted to prove my worth to everyone and I am very happy, because I think that I achieved that.

“Today everyone was superb, from the players to the fans. We achieved something remarkable. Now we’ll face Juventus” data-scaytid=”41″>Juventus in the Super Cup and want to take that home too.”
