Watford sporting director Gianluca Nani has insisted that the Pozzo family's relationship with the club will continue.
The Hornets failed to make it to the Premier League after losing to Crystal Palace 1-0 on Monday in the Championship play-off final.
But the board member has claimed that the Udinese owners will continue their stake in the London side.
“We are here for the long-term,” he told Udinese Channel. “There is no expiry date on this project.
“After losing in extra-time in the most decisive game of the season, of course the overriding emotion is bitterness.
“But we remain proud of the work done by [Coach Gianfranco] Zola and his boys.
“This defeat is not the end – we will start again next season.
“We have to congratulate Crystal Palace – they deserved to win.”
