Fabio Cannavaro would “run” to Real Madrid as Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant manager, confirming reports in Marca.

The now retired defender has been tipped for a position on Ancelotti’s staff at the Bernabeu next season, if the Coach can free himself from PSG.

“If Real Madrid and Carlo were to call, I’d run to them,” Cannavaro told Ansa news agency.

The Ballon d’Or and World Cup winner is familiar with Real Madrid, having played there from 2006 to 2009.

FIFA agent Ernesto Bronzetti also commented on the Ancelotti issue.

“This is the third time I’ve worked to bring Ancelotti to the Real Madrid bench, but it’s tough because Paris Saint-Germain don’t want to let him go.

“In two or three days we’ll all be in Paris to unblock this situation.”
