Roma have made no offer to Frank Rijkaard about becoming their new Coach ahead of the 2013-14 campaign.

The Dutchman was being suggested as a contender to replace Aurelio Andreazzoli after first choice Massimiliano Allegri agreed to stay at Milan and Napoli’s Walter Mazzarri joined Inter.

“There has been no contact,” representative Perry Overeem told AS Roma Radio. “I don’t think he will be joining Roma.

“Nobody from the capital club has been in touch regarding next season.”

The 50-year-old, a former midfielder with Ajax, Sporting Lisbon and Milan, is available after leaving his post as Saudi Arabia boss in January.

Rijkaard started his coaching career with the Dutch national side in 1998 and left two years later. He’s also bossed Sparta Rotterdam, Barcelona and Galatasaray.

Former Napoli and Inter defender Laurent Blanc is the new favourite to be handed control at the Stadio Olimpico.
