Marino named as Pescara Coach

Pasquale Marino has been tasked with leading Pescara back into the top flight after he was named as their new boss.

Marino, sidelined since he was axed in April 2012 by Serie A side Genoa, will be presented to the media next Saturday.

The 50-year-old was approached after Zdenek Zeman, who was dismissed by Roma in February, rejected the chance of a return.

Pescara had three tacticians during the 2012-13 campaign – Giovanni Stroppa, Cristiano Bergodi and then Cristian Bucchi.

The seaside outfit finished bottom of the League after winning just six, drawing four and losing 28 of their 38 matches.
