There are conflicting reports over whether Albanian defender Mergim Mavraj has announced a move to Lazio.
The story erupted in the Corriere dello Sport, who claimed Mavraj had taken to his Facebook page in order to confirm an imminent transfer.
“I am leaving Greuther Furth because I am not happy with what I have achieved here,” he was quoted as saying.
“I am going to Lazio because this is a transfer that allows for more growth in my career.”
However, this morning the 27-year-old left-back with German citizenship insisted there was no truth in the story.
“I don’t know anything about Lazio,” he told Sport Express. “I haven’t spoken to Igli Tare, nor any other directors, and have no deal with Lazio.
“When I return to Germany we will evaluate the situation with the club. I repeat, I have not received any offers from Italy.”
