Ferrara and Vieri tip Ancelotti

Ciro Ferrara and Christian Vieri are both confident Carlo Ancelotti is the right man for Real Madrid.

The current Paris Saint-Germain Coach has made it clear he wants to accept the bench left vacant by Jose Mourinho, but the French side will not release him from his contract.

“I worked with him for two years and he was always very good,” Ferrara told AS.

“He is a great Coach and a great person, above that. He is always available for his players. Madrid are a top club. They have a special aura, when you play against them it scares you.

“But it is not about what Coach they choose, their history is not determined by a technician or a player. But it is by the club, their philosophy, the fans.

“There are few Coaches at the level for Madrid, that’s true, and Carlo is one of them.”

Former Sampdoria boss Ferrara is in Madrid to prepare for tonight’s match between Real and Juve legends.

“I'm still under contract with Sampdoria, but I am on the lookout for a new job.”

Another ex-Juve player, Vieri, also commented on Ancelotti’s suitability for the Bernabeu.

“Ancelotti is great, he has always done well. He is a guarantee,” Vieri said after taking part in a Italy and Japanese legends match in Tokyo.

“He has won in Italy, in England, in France…you can see him winning anywhere. He is a relaxed man, he can do a great job at Real Madrid. Madrid are a great team, whilst Ancelotti is someone who can bring tranquillity, which is important.”
