The transfer narrative was laid out by Sport Mediaset this evening, touching on a number of different stories dominating headlines in Italy.

Napoli have stated they received several offers for Cavani, all of them lower than the €63m clause that will activate his contract.

It is now reported that Chelsea are prepared to stump up the pure cash sum in order to have the Uruguayan hitman at Stamford Bridge next season.

Aware that Cavani is a hero in Naples, President Aurelio De Laurentiis would immediately re-invest that money by bringing in El Shaarawy from Milan.

This week Adriano Galliani publicly confirmed El Shaarawy “is not off the market,” so he is open to offers for the 20-year-old Italy international.

Sport Mediaset claim Napoli have put forward a bid worth €30m plus performance-related bonuses for the Little Pharaoh.

El Shaarawy has also been linked with Arsenal and Manchester City in recent weeks, while Cavani is a target for Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and again Manchester City.
