Dejan Stankovic has no intention of rescinding his contract with Inter. “The rumours are not true,” stated the midfielder.
Whispers that the 34-year-old would imminently be leaving the club by mutual consent have been getting louder this week.
“There is absolutely no truth in that,” the former Lazio player told Serbian website Sportal. “As things stand I will start the season with Inter and then we’ll see what new boss Walter Mazzarri wants to do.
“A move back to Lazio or a transfer to the MLS? There is nothing. If an offer arrives then I’ll think about it, if not then I’ll stay another year with Inter.”
Stankovic, signed by the Beneamata from the capital club in January 2004, is on a €2.7m a season deal, after tax, until June 2014.
The veteran appeared in just three games for the San Siro outfit in 2012-13 because of fitness issues.
