Inter and Roma target Paulinho admits his agent “is in England,” so Tottenham leap to the front of the queue.
While Chelsea are also an option, the Corinthians star has been more heavily linked with a move to Spurs, especially after Franco Baldini left Roma to take over as director of football at White Hart Lane.
“It’s true my agent is in England at the moment, but I don’t know anything else,” Paulinho told reporters in Brazil.
“I am certain he will tell me what’s going on soon.”
The midfielder is valued at £14.5m – around €20m – and had a deal in place with Inter last summer before turning it down so he could take part in the Club World Cup.
Roma emerged as surprise favourites for the 24-year-old in the Italian media, but now Tottenham have taken a big step forward.
