Adriano met with the Azzurri today, hopes for an Italy-Brazil Final and feels “Mario Balotelli will match Leo Messi.”
The former Inter, Fiorentina and Roma striker turned up at the training camp this morning to have breakfast with the squad as they prepare for their Confederations Cup opener against Mexico tomorrow.
“I hope the Final will be Brazil-Italy,” l’Imperatore told Sky Sport Italia.
“Italy is my second home and I miss everything about it. I want to get back to playing football, but I can’t say where yet. I am training for a comeback.”
Adriano has become a symbol of wasting his talent, as his career veered off track with depression and alcoholism.
The 31-year-old is currently out of contract, but has been linked with a performance-related contract at Internacional.
“Balotelli is a bit like me. He will take Italy far, as he’s still young and a great player who has much to learn.
“In my view, he will match the level set by Messi.”
