Latina and Carpi promoted into Serie B

Latina and Carpi earned promotion to Serie B, but Lecce fans went on the rampage after their play-off defeat.

This evening Carpi earned a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Via del Mare, giving them the two-legged play-off Final victory on aggregate.

It sparked shocking scenes in the Lecce home stadium, where ultras invaded the pitch and physically attacked the stewards who were trying to stop them breaking into the locker rooms.

The players had just about been able to sprint off the field before the situation deteriorated.

Latina also earned their first ever promotion to Serie B thanks to a 3-1 victory over Pisa in extra time.

They join Avellino and Trapani, who were promoted from Lega Pro automatically after winning their divisions.

Serie B teams 2013-14: Avellino, Bari, Brescia, Carpi, Cesena, Cittadella, Crotone, Empoli, Juve Stabia, Latina, Modena, Novara, Padova, Palermo, Pescara, Reggina, Siena, Spezia, Ternana, Trapani, Varese, Virtus Lanciano
